Why I start trading?

My trading talent friend ZH had encouraged me to start trying trading. In fact, I have been thinking of it for a while. I can always find excuses not to do it as I used to look for excuses not to workout.

I thought twice. I decided to start it. There are 3 reasons.

Reason 1: There is a good website for beginner which allows users to use virtual money to learn trading first.

So I just treat it as learning a new knowledge. And there are many Youtube videos online for me to learn.

Reason 2: Nobody will take care of your money as their own money. If a trader has money to trade (of course he has), will he put his money at the best opportunity or your money? Obviously.

So, I need to have the skill to best utilize my money.

Reason 3: It is difficult to get richer being an employee. And purchasing employers’ shares won’t make you rich.

I am not sure about other company. My employer allows me to purchase company share at some discount. I can put x% of my monthly salary to purchase shares at a fixed date of each month. I lost the control of when to buy and sell. On top of that, the stock price of my employer goes up and down every month. After a year, I might not gain or lose anything. A senior told me this is a long term investment without knowing the final result.
