My IOT – Control Lights Using my Phone
This was one of my complicated IOT project – Control Lights Using my Phone via Arduino UNO, Blynk and ESP8266 module. The photo below captured the most complicated moment of the entire process. I almost gave up at that time because I really had no idea how to use Python, how to use Git Bash, etc. However, there was no choice and I had to learn from scratch.
After so much struggling, my friend passed me a better board, which allowed controlled the LED using my iPhone within short period of time. Well, I wouldn’t say that my effort were wasted because without the learning and researching before, I wouldn’t not be so familiar with the concept.
Here are the instructions if you want to try it out.
Step 1: check you have Spark Core app downloaded on your smartphone, the Spark Core kit.
Step 2: plug the USB cable into the computer or any power sources.
Step 3: when it is plugged in, the RGB LED on your device should begin blinking blue!
The small LED has many colors. It looks very nice!
Step 4: click on the app icon on your phone to open it.
You can login if you already have an account. If not, just create one. Simple!
Step 5: Enter the password for your WIFI.
I waited for a long time in fact, till the LED turns green.
Step 6: great! Now, tap D7. In the pop up, tap digitalWrite.
Turn the tiny blue LED off or on by tapping D7 circle!
Wish I can connect it to my home light, but my friends warmed me the voltage. I will think of a way to do it. Nothing is impossible!
